22 maj 2012 · The formula may be hidden. Select the cell (s) in question, go to the Office button, and go to the Home ribbon. There, go to the Number panel and click the down arrow of the nume format text box (which likely says "General"). Click on More Number Formats to display the number format dialog.
If Excel thinks a formula is just text and not an actual formula, it will simply display the text without trying to evaluate it as a formula. There are several situations that might cause this behavior.
