A: GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS. Safety in the Laboratory. The safety issues related to the equipment and procedures used in the Physics 155 laboratory are as follows: electrical hazards, including potentially high current and ac line voltage (all experiments); trip hazards due to electrical cords hanging over the edge of the lab bench.

Simple Harmonic Motion. When an object in stable equilibrium is displaced, a force acts to return it to its equilibrium position. Prior to coming to lab, you should read over each experiment. Furthermore, for each laboratory, you must complete a pre-lab activity printed at the beginning of each lab in this manual.
