THE PRAYERS. Let us pray to God the Father, who has reconciled to himself all things in Christ: For peace among the nations, that God may rid the world of violence and let peoples grow in justice and harmony; For those who serve in public office, that they may work for the common good;
PRAYER Leader: We gather together to remember the saints as we prepare to celebrate All Saints Day. The lives of the saints give glory to God. They are examples for all of us. Student 1: The saints followed the Word of God in all they did. They lived the command of Jesus to love God and love others. All of us are called to be saints.
A Sample Prayer Service. The leader can be anyone in the family who has taken the time to pre-read this prayer service and who has asked the Holy Spirit for guidance in selecting the bible reading and leading the reflection or discussion questions.
Ask for His mercy – God wants us to approach him in prayer, repenting of our sins and asking him to pour his mercy upon us and upon the whole world. Be merciful to others – God wants us to receive His mercy and extend mercy (love and forgiveness)
Dear friends in Christ, in the name of Jesus, we pause today to join in prayer for peace and justice in our communities. We gather with troubled hearts, sorrowed by the sins of racism, hatred, violence, and indifference, and we grieve for those who have been victims of injustice.
