This quest brought with it ability to raise tradeskills from the then current cap of 300 to 350 (250 for fishing) through levels, Alternate Advancement and learning unique recipes. It is completely different than the approach for raising your skills to 300.
14 maj 2012 · The quest becomes available the moment your skill hits 50. This applies to each and every tradeskill, all 7 primary ones, research, and all the race/class restricted tradeskills. Upon gaining 50 skill go to the West Freeport Newbie Yard, and find the tradeskill NPC's under one of the tents. Get the quest from them.

You can use the calculator page at EQTraders to see what the expected success rate will be for any combine. OK, upon further review, at lower skill levels, combines near but just slightly above your skill level still have a 30-40% chance to fail.
For Tailoring you'll need right around 3650 total recipes to reach 350 (1035 after scribing all the books). It's a total nightmare of a Tradeskill and I recommend you take small and manageable bites so you don't completely overwhelm yourself.
Basic Guide for raising research to 350. As with all trade skills from 301 to 350, your journey starts with purchasing Alternate Advancement Points. You will need to earn an additional 425 AA points and have a minimum level of 105 to take your skill all the way to 350.
