Enlace, which began in 1983, is an academic program supported by counseling, tutoring, community mentoring, and student organizations. Enlace serves underrepresented Chican@/Latin@ students of San José and nearby communities.

EVC's Enlace Program, which helps Chicanx and Latinx students successfully complete English, Math and Science guides them effectively through transfer and occupational courses, is celebrating its 35th anniversary. We are exceptionally proud of two EVC alums, Alma Acosta and Mara Leandro.

The name Enlace comes from the Spanish word enlazar, which means to unite, to connect, to link. Enlace is a network of students, staff, and community members united by a shared vision of Latina/o student success.
Enlace is a community investment in education supported by Chicanx/ Latinx community professionals who serve as mentors sharing their personal academic and career experiences to students with a “si se puede” determination. Enlaces’ Lending Library provides books and calculators while enrolled in Enlace courses.
