Enlace, which began in 1983, is an academic program supported by counseling, tutoring, community mentoring, and student organizations. Enlace serves underrepresented Chican@/Latin@ students of San José and nearby communities.
The Enlace Program, which began in 1983 at Evergreen Valley College, represents an alternative approach to meeting the educational needs of Chicanx/Latinx students. The name enlace is derived from the Spanish word enlazar, which means "to bind or connect" or "to create a community."
Enlace is a multi-service program blending academic instruction and support services. The program offers counseling; mentoring; supplemental instruction; peer tutoring; along with English, Math and Science transferable courses.
The Enlace Program is designed to help Chicanx/Latinx students succeed. It is a unique academic program established in 1983 and maintained under the EVC Language Arts Division celebrating 41 years of academic services.

Every spring we host a bilingual-bicultural event, the Enlace Excelencia in Education Celebration, where we honor Enlace students, their families, and award scholarships.
