Topical therapies (5% imiquimod, 5% fluorouracil) and destructive approaches (curet-tage, electrocautery, cryotherapy, laser ablation) should be considered in patients with low-risk superficial BCC. Photodynamic therapy is an effective treatment for superficial BCC and thin nodular BCC.
