28 gru 2022 · Overall, Escape from Monkey Island offers an intriguing and funny story, sharp animation, and a good introduction to the series. The game that started it all, Secret of Monkey Island involves Guybrush becoming a pirate and exploring various islands. It combines Monty Python-esque humor and pirates for a tongue-in-cheek style that became a hallmark.
Escape - The game that gets in its own way constantly. There's some great writing and humor in this one, but the mechanics and controls are awful.
I've heard plenty about how Return follows directly after 2... so, would it be sensible to play in this order: 1, 2, Return, Curse, Escape, Tales? Or is it better to play in release order so that things go out on a presumably high note (given how good Return's reception has been, and since players seem more lukewarm on 4 & 5)?

This is underlined by the removal of much of the details that give Monkey Island games their unique flavour: atmospheric areas to discover, the endless objects to 'Look at' and receive funny lines about, the silly conversation trees, the ability to combine items unsuccessfully with a comment from Guybrush why something won't work, etc ...
20 wrz 2022 · If you watch the recap option in the Main Menu of Return to Monkey Island, you'd get a summary of all the previous games so you can jump right in. But for the full experience, play Secret of Monkey Island 1, Secret of Monkey Island 2 LeChuck's Revenge, Curse of Monkey Island, Escape from Monkey Island, and Tales of Monkey Island first.
