28 maj 2018 · It appears that Apple has removed El Capitan from their installer download page -- they only have the Safari-only update feature, which did not meet my needs. I stumbled on a secondary thread that someone mentioned Apple removes support for these downloads when the security certificates expire.

15 lis 2023 · I got this Mac from my brother and he wiped it clean before giving it to me, however when I go to install OS X it gives me 403 Forbidden after I type in my Apple ID. Nothing on recovery disk, I have tried to set the date and time in terminal and tried to connect it direct via Ethernet and no luck.

If no other solutions work, erase your Mac and reset it to factory settings.
29 wrz 2024 · OS X El Capitan: Not able to reinstall because of an error. I got a MacBook Pro from a friend. I'm not sure what the exact model is but definitely an early 2010's or late 2000's Mac. I factory reset the MacBook and tried to reinstall OS X. I erased the Macintosh HD and proceeded to reinstall.
30 cze 2023 · booting in cmd+R on the native machine and selecting reinstall OS X i get error that some required download is missing. i have tried making bootable high sierra but have a suspicion that the machine doesn't support it.
Use htiutil to verify the checksum. Assuming you have the El Capitan download in the Applications folder, you can verify the download with the following command: hdiutil verify /Applications/Install\ OS\ X\ El\ Capitan.app/Contents/SharedSupport/InstallESD.dmg.
26 cze 2020 · As explained here, OS X 10.11 "El Capitan" fails to install because it is too old (the technical reason being that the signing certificate is no longer valid). But you can trick the OS X installer into thinking that it is 2017 and it will happily run without any errors.
