Eph 4:17-32. The apostle having gone through his exhortation to mutual love, unity, and concord, in the foregoing verses, there follows in these an exhortation to Christian purity and holiness of heart and life, and that both more general and in several particular instances, v. 25-32.
1. (Ephesians 4:1) The foundation for all exhortation. I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, a. Therefore: Paul spent three chapters spelling out in glorious detail all that God did for us, freely by His grace.

1. # 4 = WATCH WHAT COMES OUT OF YOUR MOUTH. a) The things that do flow from a Christian's mouth should build people up, not put them down. (1) And those who hear what we say, should sense in our words that people are getting what they don't deserve (grace), not being condemned for maybe even what they do deserve!
