13 sie 2019 · The 2,4-pentanedione enol form shown is the more stable enol, since the lone pair on the enol oxygen can delocalize across the five atoms to the electronegative carbonyl oxygen. Hydrogen bonding is also a minor factor in its favor.

16 sie 2022 · All about the formation, stability, and reactions of enolates, the conjugate bases of aldehydes, ketones, and other carbonyl compounds.
The right answer given in the book is (1), but I don't understand why the carboxyl (4) and amide (3) forms aren't stable enough. Don't the lone pairs on the oxygen/nitrogen stabilise the compound with resonance or something like that? Please help me sort this out. Nobody's responded to this post yet.
26 lut 2024 · The more substituted enol is more stable due to hyperconjugation or σ-conjugation. When a full bonding orbital can overlap with the empty π* antibonding orbital of the C=C double bond, its electrons are effectively delocalized and this is more energetically favorable than localized electrons.
19 sie 2022 · Enolates have a lot in common with alkenes. They are flat and have a C-C pi bond. Zaitsev’s rule reminds us that alkene stability increases with increasing number of carbons directly attached to the alkene (i.e. “more substituted” alkenes are more stable).
14 sty 2013 · In this manuscript, an efficient way to synthesize very stable hydrazine substituted enol is provided and series of stable aliphatic solid enols, which are different from Lawrence′s phenylogous enol, were obtained and studied.
