This list of wars by death toll includes all deaths that are either directly or indirectly caused by war.
Their lists contain the names of service men and women who died from war-related causes up until April 30, 1922, after which deaths were not officially designated as war deaths. Between 1914 and 1914 much of the world was at war. We believe that the names of the dead, no matter their national origin, deserve to be acknowledged.

Registers of approximately 750,000 British soldiers killed in WWI. Similar indexes are available for the Boer War and WWII. The location and cause of death may appear vague. Death certificates for soldiers who died in hospital in France or Belgium are in series RG 35/45 -69, arranged alphabetically.
7 kwi 2015 · Note: This list only mentions those people whose names are inscribed on Wivenhoe’s War Memorial, 46 in all. A total of 70 men from Wivenhoe died as a result of this War. We have not been able to work out why so many names are missing from the Memorial.
Some 300,000 military records, detailing information on more than one million soldiers who died in World War One, have been made available to the public online. The database, compiled by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC), will make it easier for people to search for relatives killed during the conflict.
