Wizards can get around that cost by adding spells through leveling, but I wouldn't include that in the value of the object.

  7. The cost to make a spell book is 10g/spell level. Wizards are somewhat secretive though, so the retail price is probably higher. It can't be too high though, or Wizards could make a lot of money just copying out their spells into fresh books and selling them!
