Had anyone seen Freaks (2018)? Discussion. It’s a film worth watching. What surprised me is that it I read it cost only $2,000 to make. Wow, Steve Martin in Bowfinger was right I guess. It’s definitely low budget, but 2 grand? It has two fairly big-name actors (Emile Hirsche, Bruce Dern) who worked for less than minimum wage apparently.
By the bittersweet end of the movie, you’ll be able to pick up all of the obvious and subtle details that spell the entire story out. It is truly a book played in images, with no pages missed. The “be yourself” theme is overplayed, but uniquely explained in this movie.
Movie recommendation - Freaks (2018/2019) : r/horror. If you haven't already, check out Freaks. It's a slow burn Sci-fi drama with some fantastic horror elements. It stars Emile Hirsch and Bruce Dern. Try and avoid trailers as they're full of spoilers.
