19 sie 2021 · The wireless charge pad in her car has the same issue. Neither her regular 12 or my larger 12Pro (which barely even fits unless you remove the case) works on the wireless system because it quickly overheats the phone to where its unusable.
30 kwi 2020 · Then, you get in your hot car and immediately place it on the charger, where it probably gets hit with a full power wireless charge if the battery is under 90%-ish, and the temperature rises further. Within 5 minutes, the phone overheats, cuts off the charge to save itself.
25 sty 2024 · In my usage however, I realized that my phone (iPhone 12) gets as hot with the Apple MagSafe charger as it does with the BMW charger. This is when the phone is connected to the car (CarPlay mostly). I then connected the phone via the lightening port using a cable to the center console and the heating problems went away.
10 paź 2022 · It's a common problem with wireless chargers in general. If your phone is in a case, remove it from the case so the phone gets better cooling. Sometimes pointing a vent at the phone will also help it stay cool.
1 lis 2022 · My iPhone12 (regular) gets hot and barely charges in the 2023 Model Y wireless charger pad (left side). My phone doesn't get hot on my 2 different Qi chargers on my desks. There is a nice teardown video
25 maj 2021 · My iPhone 11 Pro gets warm when wireless charging not matter which wireless charger I use. When using it with CarPlay, it gets noticeably hot as both Apple Maps and Google Maps cause the phone to get hot (in my previous car that had only wired CarPlay it would get hot as well).
I have a 2020 M340 and it came with a wireless charging tray (also doubles as NFC sensor); I also have a Samsung S8. Recently, when I put my phone in the charging tray, the blue light comes on, BUT after 5-10 minutes the light turns orange & my phone gets quite warm.
