The Elmira Pioneers are a collegiate summer baseball team based in Elmira, New York. They have been affiliated with many major league teams throughout their history. Currently, Elmira Pioneers play as members of the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League (PGCBL). They play their home games at Dunn Field.
The Elmira Pioneers, an independent, minor league baseball team, played in the Atlantic League, Canadian-American Association, Eastern League, New York State League, New York-Pennsylvania League, Northeast League and Northern League-East between 1895 and 2005. (1996-2005)
Third-baseman Jordan Westburg attended Mississippi State University and played for the Pioneers in 2018. Joe was drafted in the 2 nd round of the 2020 MLB Draft by the Baltimore Orioles, Jordan made his MLB debut June 26, 2023.

They were the Babies, the Gladiators, the Jags, the Colonels, the Red Jackets, and the Red Wings. Most of the names didn’t last more than a few years.

The Elmira Pioneers were long-time members of the both the Eastern League and New York-Penn League.Throughout their affiliation with the Boston Red Sox in the 1970s, the team was also called the Elmira Red Sox and Elmira Pioneer-Red Sox both formally and informally.
