I use a 3 volt power source (usually 2 - 1.5 volt D cells), submerge the motor in a large cup of Distilled water, run it in a reverse direction (+ battery supply to - motor connection), run it for 2 minutes, then reverse the battery connections to run it in a forward direction, and run it for 2 - 4 minutes.

  7. It's pretty basic. Run the motor in water at a lower speed until it blows out all the crud, pull in out, make damn sure it's all dry, lube it up. Those last two are key, otherwise you'll end up killing the motor life and speed. Brushed motors can run with a lot of abuse, but they will not run well.
