I just bought oblivion on Steam and while I can get the launcher to open, the game itself will not load. When i click play, the launcher just closes and then nothing happens. Here's what I've tried so far: Running in compatibility mode. Running in windowed mode.
If The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion fails to launch, go through any installed multimedia programs (DVD writing, Music players, A/V editing) and uninstall any programs that install their own codecs. Once you find the one that lets the game launch, you may then re-install the other programs once again.
27 lip 2015 · Oblivion Won't Start. Anyone else had this problem? I press play for oblivion and the steam window pops up that reads "launching Oblivion" and it goes right back to the launcher. I've installed in three times, a fresh install everytime. But a friend and myself have no clue what the problem could be.
30 lis 2023 · I've been trying to play Oblivion but the game won't launch; I get the launcher but after that the game doesn't start. is there a way to fix this?
Try to launch it not through steam, bypass the launcher and go straight for oblivion.exe (might be named differently), launch it with admin rights. Remove oblivion files from My Documents (the place with saves and config.ini), maybe some stuff is corrupted. I honestly don't know what to advise, just throwing out ideas I'd try myself. 4. Reply.
11 kwi 2021 · Oblivion not starting is almost always a registry issue. When you have Oblivion uninstalled run something like CCleaner to wipe out the registry entries. Once that is done which will take a couple of minutes then you can reinstall and should have much better luck.
