The El Monte City School District, in partnership with the students, families and the community, cultivates leadership, creativity and educational excellence. By creating multiple opportunities for learning, we develop students’ unique abilities to succeed and contribute positively in our diverse society.
It includes 14 elementary schools: eight serving grades K-6, and six serving grades K-8. The district also administers four Head Start sites, which are located at the elementary schools. Current district board members include Lisette I. Mendez, Beth Rivas, Julia Ruedas, David Siegrist, and Jennifer Cobian.
In 2013, Jessica Ancona was first elected to the El Monte City School District Governing Board, where she served as the President in 2016 and 2017 and Vice President in 2018.
