  3. Reply. Mark_McQ. •. They don't have hardened knife edges, so they wear over time. Mine is about 4-5 years old and has some wear on it. I briefly replaced it with a Gotoh Floyd and it was a HUGE improvement. Had to put the Edge3 back on as I needed cash, so sold the Gotoh, but plan on putting another on in the future.

  6. 26 kwi 2013 · I am not a fan of edge tremolos for the reasons he listed. I also hate the cost of them. An edge replacement is considerably more expensive than a Floyd, and to top it off any parts cost too much to be worth replacement as well.

  7. 28 lip 2010 · If I remember correctly, the OFR and Edge Pro trems are both direct replacements for the Edge 3, and both are very good systems. Click to expand... The OFR will need a little work to fit right, not as much as other systems, but it isn't a guaranteed drop in replacement like the Edge Pro.
