In the mid-Sixties, Eddie and his best friend, Pat “Gumby” Ryan, were groms on the Greg Noll Surf Team.
In 1972, Ryan began shaping for Nolls’ former shop manager Eddie Talbot, who had opened ET Surf on Aviation Boulevard.

Recognizing an opportunity, Danny used his connection with Eddie Talbot of ET Surfboards in LA’s South Bay, and started buying and reselling Ultraflex skateboards (a San Diego brand) out of his dorm room.
