East Texas Tech Sheldon Cooper was a student for 3 years, and graduated in 1994 at age 14. Sheldon had taken courses at the college before he finished high school.
No, it doesn't. The actual Texas Tech is located in Lubbock. There really isn't a school that directly corresponds to it in reality. The closest large public research universities to where Medford is supposed to be would be Texas A&M or University of Houston.
Medford is a fictional 2 hours from Houston, therefore East Texas Tech can't technically be in East Texas. It would be closer to Huntsville or Lufkin. East Texas would be the Tyler/Palestine area.

There's a Texas Tech, but not an East Texas Tech. Yes it's big enough, but it doesn't currently exist. Why? No idea. It just doesn't outside of the Young Sheldon/Big Bang Theory universe.
