How to Use This Book This book provides 16 reading passages (both prose and poetry) ranging from two to four pages in length—and from Grade 7 to Grade 8 in reading level . Each passage has 6 to 10 questions, including both multiple-choice and written-response .
We read the book, talk about reading skills, take quizzes and complete projects. After reading the book, we learned all about opportunity cost, scarcity, producers, and consumers. We did these through vocabulary posters, brain pop videos, and lots of talking about examples!
The first three passages are introductions to basic economic terms. Each passage has an interactive notebook foldable to go with it for note taking. The final six passages are all snapshots of companies and other real–world economic decision examples. Each of the six passages has a comprehension page to go with it.
This section includes printable reading comprehension exercises dedicated to readers in grade 7. Generally, these are short passages with a maximum Lexile score of 1310.
