Use that code to activate Login Verification for a new method. If you lose your phone, the authenticator app fails, or you can’t access your email address, backup codes are the only way to sign into your EA Account from a new device. When you sign in, you’ll be required to use the security code we send you via SMS message. Click "SET UP" to enable your preferred 2FA method. After you select your authentication method, you should receive a code from Epic Games for email and SMS, and the App should generate a code for you
Once you have logged into your account, you will be able to disable 2FA or change your preferred method from the Password & Security section of your Account management page. You can also change your phone number for 2FA via SMS.
