Our fermentation process produces a quality wine that becomes the base of E&J. We distill each vintage year of brandy within 3 months of fermentation to capture the freshest flavor and aroma. Each of our 275K barrels are unique, from the age and oakiness down to the drips in the wood, making it one of the most complex parts of distillation.

Ernest & Julio Gallo are the namesakes for the E&J Brandy portfolio. Their first brandy sold was in 1938, but their VS was released in 1975. The VS is the youngest in their brandy portfolio and is at least 2 years old.
