Pinus strobus ‘Nana’ (Eastern White Pine) is a dwarf evergreen coniferous shrub of dense, compact, irregularly branched, dome-shaped habit, adorned with soft, silvery blue-green needles. A slow grower, 2-5 in. per year (5-12 cm), this dwarf White Pine makes a terrific specimen plant.
This pinus strobus nana is about four years old and has done very poorly this year. Alkaline clay base soil with a full sun, south exposure and a mulch of pine needles. The soil has a ph of a little over 7. There are no signs of fungal/bacterial disease. The tree was planted four years ago.
