Something must have updated and caused a problem. I have tried following all of the previously posted suggestions and have restarted my computer and nothing - NOTHING - seems to work. My DVD player of preference is VLC. Having this dumb store screen pop up each time I insert a DVD is more than annoying. Can someone help?
Go to: Settings > Devices > AutoPlay > Removable drive This was set to Open folder to view files, I changed it to No action and now my CD's stay in the tray. Found the solution thanks to this blog post.

For me, running Win10 64-bit (ver 1607), I tracked it down to a scheduled task which runs periodically and launches the Power Efficiency Diagnostics System Analyzer. If you think this may be the cause, you can quickly check it's the same sound by running powercfg.exe -energy from an elevated command prompt.
