My CD/DVD drive is no longer recognized in Windows Explorer, BIOS or the Device Manager. It does, however, show up briefly in Windows Explorer during security scans of the computer. It opens/closes, etc. and when visible, I am able to open the drive and see the contents of the CD.
My DVD drive appeared properly in the BIOS but nothing showed in Device Manager whatsoever. The whole UpperFilters/LowerFilters stuff didn't apply, because that only works if the drive is showing an exclamation mark.
