The dusty key is not tradeable, but multiple copies can be obtained. It can be placed on the Steel key ring. During the Heroes' Quest, players without level 70 Agility need the dusty key to reach the lava eel fishing area (unless they obtained the lava eel through the Lava Maze in the Wilderness).
The dusty key is needed by players without level 70 Agility to complete the Scorpion Catcher quest. It is also needed for Heroes' quest if the player decides to fish the lava eel outside of the Wilderness.

To obtain the dusty key, the Jailer outside of the cell must be killed. The Jailer will then drop a Jail key , which is used to unlock Velrak's cell. When Velrak is asked if there are any good places to explore, he will provide the dusty key.
If you need to acquire a dusty key, follow the track towards the Black Knights' Base and kill the jailer located in the eastern area of the base, who will drop a jail key. Use the jail key on the door of the cell containing Velrak the explorer .
