2 mar 2017 · Manufactured for a relatively short time, Durand art glass was introduced into the market nearly a quarter of a century later and can be seen as America’s last hoorah in the realm of rich and lustrous hand blown iridescent art glass.
By this time, Durand Glass was challenging Steuben Glass and Tiffany, with their iridescent glass. Some of their highly sought glass that now brings some very outstanding prices and great recognition includes its Hearts and Vine line, King Tut, Lady Gay Rose, Crackle and Lustre Ware.

In 1924, having learned new techniques and formulas from workers at Brooklyn’s Quezal factory, Victor Durand added art glass to his predominantly commercial output at Vineland Flint Glass Works. He produced simple shapes with iridescent, Art Nouveau–inspired decoration, such as this vase.
