Dunollie Museum, Castle & Grounds is open to visitors from 15th March to 1st November 2024, and special events for all ages take place throughout the year. Dunollie is located about 1 mile north of Oban along the coast, in an area known to have been inhabited for at least 8,000 years.
Follow one of our Tour Guides and immerse yourself in Dunollie's History from the Iron age, to Somerled and the birth of the Clan MacDougall, throughout the Jacobite uprisings and until the present day. Tours last approximately 1 hour and take place almost entirely outdoors.

Dunollie Castle (Scottish Gaelic: Caisteal Dhùn Ollaigh) is a small ruined castle located on a hill north of the town of Oban, on the west coast of Scotland in Argyll and Bute. The site enjoys views over towards the island of Kerrera and a view of the town, harbour, and outlying isles.
The opening times of our cafe, shop, castle and museum are all the same as our gardens. Currently closed, will reopen 2nd April and close 1st November 2023 to 1st April 2024. ADMISSION PRICES
Dunollie Museum, Castle and Grounds is open April-October, Sunday-Friday, 10am-4pm. Guided Tours take place twice a day, Monday-Friday and a piper plays for visitors on Sundays. Dogs are welcome on a lead in all of Dunollie's outdoor areas. accessible parking and facilities are available.
