17 maj 2024 · Section 229.23 - Rights and privileges of hospitalized persons. Every person who is hospitalized or detained under this chapter shall have the right to: 1. Prompt evaluation, necessary psychiatric services, and additional care and treatment as indicated by the patient's condition.
Private hospital: means any hospital or facility not directly supported by public funds, or part of such hospital or facility, which is equipped and staffed to provide inpatient care to persons with mental illness. See Iowa Code 229.1.
