11 paź 2019 · I looked at most everything out there to include: Makita (12"), Evolution (15") ( I own one of their steel cutting circular saws, too), MK Morse (14") and CS Unitec (14"). There are others. The CS Unitec seemed to be the most bulletproof and sturdy, but it's a bit pricier than the rest.
6 maj 2020 · The Bottom Line. The Skilsaw SPT62MTC-22 is a massive improvement to my metal-cutting setup, and I would definitely recommend considering the Skilsaw when you’re ready to make the change, either from an abrasive chop saw or from an entry-level dry-cut saw that isn’t holding up.
15 mar 2021 · A dry cutting metal saw is an excellent tool to cut angle iron, pipe, aluminum, and mild steel with minimal sparks, heat, or burrs. Amazingly, it uses a single blade and it gets the job done much faster than an abrasive saw. Moreover, single blade lasts longer than multiple abrasive discs.
21 paź 2013 · I have the largest Evolution metal cutting circular saw (hand held, not the chop saw). It works for the occasional use that I need, but I'm not impressed with the quality of it. If I needed it on a daily basis, I doubt it would hold up well.

Overall, the Makita LW1400 is one of the best high-speed abrasive chop saws on the market - a couple of improvements will solidify it at the top.
Cold saws are different...they're the ones like Dake make that are coolant flooded. Dry cut are low RPM chop saws with carbide blades. Either way, I'm quite pleased with this Dewalt one.
