(money, people, paraphernalia, etc.) b) who in your work/home/social environments use alcohol and/or drugs? c) what is the availability of alcohol and drugs in your environment? d) what is the availability of money to obtain alcohol and drugs?
Refusing to drink or use drugs takes courage and strength. Examine your vulnerabilities and past relapse triggers. Have you had trouble being assertive? In the past have you found yourself frequently giving in to temptation? Have you had a hard time saying no to people who have encouraged you to participate in the party or use with them?
Through this lesson, students identified reasons why some teens use drugs. This guided their description of goals, values and beliefs important to them and their decisions about substance abuse.
