Drive Ya Nuts Solver. This program was the result of a weekend with family goofing off with the Drive Ya Nuts game. I thought I would throw together a quick solver to check for all possible solutions (there's only one).
Parker Brother's Drive Ya Nuts puzzle is what enthusiasts call an "edge matching" challenge. You can see that each of the large plastic "nuts" has numbers on it, and the goal is to match these up with neighboring pieces. There's only one solution, and it is terribly frustrating.
To get only unique valid solutions, you can fix the orientation of the piece in the center. For example, you can assume that that the "1" on the piece in the center is always pointing "up". If you're not already doing so, you can make your program much more efficient by checking for a valid solution after placing each piece.
