Drill batteries are usually bundles of 18650s with extra protection circuitry. You can run li-ion but you'll get really bad C rating. I want to try a build that runs on a drill battery. Any recommendations on a kit / parts list with an esc, motor and a remote controll?

The tools you'll need is a measuring tape, a drill, a type of saw, wood screws and liquid concrete. These are the only things I used and I got through many projects with just this. If you don't have a drill I highly suggest getting a cheap corded drill. They just work better than battery drills at lower price points.
