This RL Drake L4-B module, is fully assembled and is a combination soft-start/soft-key/bias board, specifically for the L4-B amplifier. This all-in-one board limits inrush current during amplifier start-up by placing a small resistive load in series with the AC mains.
This L4B is the better amp over all. External power supply keeps that extra heat out of the chassis. Air blowing up through the tube sockets keeps everything cooler so tubes AND sockets will last longer.

The amplifier was a very rugged amplifier and designed as a two final tube amplifier using the 3-500 or similar tube.
