Today, Matcham and company unveiled the drawings and plans for the new Dragway 42, which is proposed to feature a new, 4,000-foot, all-concrete strip, with a 200-foot sand trap at its terminus, all located just adjacent to the current strip.
Even though the International Hot Rod Association is based in Norwalk, Ohio, the sanctioning body’s Nitro Jam Series has been absent in the Buckeye State since 2006. That’s scheduled to change this September, though, when the completely renovated Dragway 42 hosts their first major event, the revived IHRA Nitro Jam World Nationals.
Dragway 42 is located in West Salem, Ohio and has been around for over 60 years originally opening in 1957. It has undergone a complete ground up renovation and reopened in spring 2017. Dragway 42 is a multi-purpose facility that is host to Drag Racing, Autocross Racing, Tractor & Truck Pulling and Concerts.
