15 gru 2007 · From what I read in the KBA from Microsoft, any Vista Business or Ultimate user is authorized to do the downgrade to XP Pro. For the other versions of Vista you would have to purchase a copy of XP if you wish to downgrade. See the links above for more details on it.
28 wrz 2007 · You may want to remove the Dell hard drive and install a new one, you will lose the built in Dell partitions that enable PC restore, media direct, and the Dell diagnostics if you install XP on the Dell drive.
2 mar 2024 · I have a desktop pc that I want to revert back to Windows XP on. It is an older pc that I installed Windows 10 on but things dont work to well as I think the hardware is to old for it. I want get rid of windows 10 and put windows xp back on it so I can play my old games.
20 gru 2007 · If you purchase a used system and it has an OEM license for XP then you can use an OEM copy of XP to install it on that computer. The only other option is to purchase a retail copy of the OS you want to install.

So I got an old laptop that originally had XP on it (Dell Inspiron Mini 9 Netbook) and it has Windows 10 installed. What is the best method to get it back to XP? Will it require going to 7/8 first or can I just use a USB boot drive to fresh install XP onto it?
28 lut 2008 · Switching from Vista to XP is considered a downgrade. That means that the Windows XP setup program will see that you have a newer version of Windows already on your machine. As a result it will refuse to overwrite it.
