So my real suggestion if you're looking for "good" hotkeys is to just plop your hand on the keyboard in a relaxed position. Then start binding things to whatever keys are directly underneath your fingers or easily reachable from that spot.
The default hotkeys are pretty alright for beginners and they can change things up as they get more familiar. My item hotkeys are x,c,v,4,space and the thumb buttons on my mouse but I started off with the standard 123456.
