20 maj 2023 · I'm not using steam, but I logged in early last week with no issues and all of a sudden I'm getting this error when I try to login to the game. The launcher gets stuck on "an update error occurred" and it won't connect to anything.

15 lut 2024 · The three most likely culprits: 1- You are attempting to run from the Steam launcher. 2- The launcher/installer sometimes has trouble applying a patch if you have missed a lot of game patches between the last time you ran the game and the present date. 3- Your antivirus is getting in the way.
2 paź 2024 · Try running the lotrolive.exe file used to install the game. Installing to same location should reset base files and updates database. edit: If you browse to http://akamai.lotro.com and "Proceed to unsafe site" you should see "Not Found"
Hello, I've been wanting to try out LOTRO for a few days and keep running into this problem with the launcher, it's been stuck at 33% for what feels like years. I've tried turning the proxy server's off, disabling my firewalls, and countless reinstalls.
6 lis 2014 · I tried the following (without any results): - turning antivirus-software off - turning firewall off - changing proxy-settings in IE and client (As advised on other update failures). - starting client as Administrator. - CLEAN INSTALL of the whole game.

11 sie 2023 · If you're using the Steam client, know that it has issues that the lotro devs have no control over. It's recommended to use the launcher that you can download from the Lotro website. You can also try to repair your files under Options->Repair on the launcher.
