30 sie 2023 · Found a simple fix for me: Go to options / graphics / select "use advanced mode" - the problem then dissapieread. Strange - i changed no option there. Same for macOS. See here: ValveSoftware/Dota2-Gameplay#11241. @danginsburg Please help! I can confirm it hasn't been fixed with the latest update. Honestly it should be a one-line fix..
Playing in non native resolution using gpu scaling (default) or using display scaling (nvidia: adjust desktop size - perform scalling on = display and [x] override) can make a difference as well. dota behaves so weirdly with alt tabbing in full screen mode.
In Dota's dx11 exclusive full screen mode, I can't use my monitor's full resolution. This error has been going on for years, I haven't had this problem with Dx9, but I can't use the game in full screen since Dx11 has to.
If you are having issues with resolutions that used to work but for seemingly no reason do not work anymore, read further. In my case, after this weird random loading screen bug happens in the screenshot, I cannot get my resolution back to the awesomeness it was before.
Launch the game and see if it opens if it does then just go to your in game settings and change your display settings to full screen again. This worked for me hope it does for you to. GLHF
14 mar 2024 · Whenever DOTA is running, it is in exlusive full screen mode. Entering the video settings menu allows me to change the settings but not save them. Going to a different options screen, closing the options menu, or restarting the game results in the settings going back.
As of some time the week of 2022-10-24, Dota 2 no longer saves my video preferences and would default to "Use my monitor's current resolution" instead of "use advanced video settings" on every boot. This is annoying, but easy enough to notice and work around each time I start up dota.
