Doom Patrol ended like it lived: by not trying too hard to make any sense whatsoever. The arcs for both sets of villains concluded with the most Doom Patrol possible resolution, which left a lot of time for the characters final stories.
The emotional punch of Cliff's ending, my personal favorite, was a tearjerker. What struck me as slightly off was the unexpected direction of the finale. The strength of Doom Patrol lay in their camaraderie, yet, after decades together, they reached a point where they no longer needed each other.
Season four wasn't as strong as the first three seasons and I feel like some of the character arcs were off-kilter in this final year, but the show remains a favourite and this finale really fits the show's ethos.
