The Dōgo onsen is one of the oldest onsen in Japan. It is located in Matsuyama in Ehime Prefecture on the island of Shikoku. The water supplying the eighteen baths of the onsen, including one reserved for the imperial family, is alkaline and at a temperature oscillating between 42 and 50°C.
