10 sie 2022 · Answer. In 1 John 4, John encourages believers that, because God has loved us, we should love one another (1 John 4:11). And “there is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love” (1 John 4:18).

But perfect (complete, full-grown) love drives out fear, because fear involves [the expectation of divine] punishment, so the one who is afraid [of God’s judgment] is not perfected in love [has not grown into a sufficient understanding of God’s love]. 19 paź 2023 · When we experience God’s love and share his love with others, we need not fear. In this verse fear is used to describe all fears, rather the fear of punishment. A Christian might have other fears, the Bible talks about those elsewhere.
