It used to be an actual oil, very viscous, now it's a cream. The recent reviews on Amazon are negative about the new formula. For the price, I switched to another that's a lot cheaper and works pretty well.
17 lut 2010 · I've brush painted many engines with One Shot (oil based enamel). Rustoleum would also work but you're more limited on colors. Try it on a junk block or head. You'll be surprised.
12 sie 2006 · For the home builder, painting the inside of an engine helps drain back of oil. If it will eventually be a high mileage engine, it will reduce the rough surfaces for sludge to hang on. Just make sure that the engine is sparkling clean or it can cause many problems if it flakes off and clogs oil galleys.

If you’re having the engine rebuilt it is best practice to have the engine tore down all the way and use an abrasive tool or media blast to remove all oil, dirt, and grease.

Rather than take a chance with a rattle can, we did some research to find out what the best method is for a long-lasting engine paint job. After spending some time talking with various restoration and custom shops, we had our solution.
