31 gru 2011 · Historically, there is a Mac/Windows difference. The OSes use different gamma settings (1.8 and 2.2, I believe). However, I can't say if that's still a true statement anymore. –
25 sty 2024 · For any regular Windows computers, it is recommended to have a 2.2 gamma value, and for MAC devices, it is often set to 2.4. However, if users want to change it a bit, they can easily do so.

Windows monitors are a bit darker than Mac monitors, therefore if you’re sending an image to a client of yours who is using Windows you might want to consider correcting the Gamma of your image to make sure your client sees similar range of colors as you do on your Mac.
I believe the iMac I own is perfected color calibrated when shipped to consumers. But I seriously can't tell a huge difference between the iMac and my gaming pc monitor. Gamma calibration will be noticeable, but color calibration might not so much for normal users

27 maj 2011 · The last upgrades have brought OS X in line with the international graphics display standards, so Win and Mac both use the same gamma setting. I would suggest that in the Wonderful World of Web Wizardry this color difference is not a bad thing.
