If your child attends a private, parochial, charter school, NYC Early Education Center (NYCEEC) or Family Childcare Program, please contact your child’s school for information about their calendar. The number of days the DOE can be in session varies each year. The 2024-2025 school year calendar can be summarized as follows: First day of school for students: Thursday, September 5, 2024. Last day of school for students: Thursday, June 26, 2025. Minimum days in session required by New York State law: 180.
