16 kwi 2022 · So basically I bought an ex cop car (2014 dodge charger se) about 2 and a half months ago and by surprise the horn didn't work. They basically disconnected the factory horn in order to connect the police siren in place of it.
16 kwi 2022 · Ex Cop Car Horn Problem. Wiring is simple. Start at the Horns and work back. It's common for the horn to be set up so the officer can toggle through different siren modes as they respond to an emergency.
19 maj 2016 · The horn does not beep when pressed. The relays and fused and horns are all good and have been tested. Apparently the police vehicles rewire the horn to the center console and what not.
11 cze 2022 · So basically I recently bought a 2014 charger that was a cop car. When the charger gets commissioned/upfitted for the department the factory horn is disconnected in order to connect a siren. I tore my car apart for 2+ months looking for where they disconnected the factory horn and I had no luck.

28 lut 2015 · Pull the knee panel under the steering out and see what wires are cut. On my dad's old suburban the siren was tapped into the horn wire, however when removed the horn wasn't affected. But different departments remove equipment more gruesomely, so it's entirely possible that they just cut everything that they saw.
