Base Attack Bonus (BAB) defines a creature's basic ability to land a damaging hit on an enemy if no other bonuses or modifiers would play a role. Every six points of Base Attack Bonus will allow the character to perform a second attack when attacking as a Full-Round Action.
From here, a level 20 fighter with 24 strength, a +6 belt, legendary proportions, weapon training +4, greater weapon focus, and a +5 weapon has an attack bonus of roughly +42. Throw in those buff characters, and you are well over +60.
At BAB 16, your attacks happen at +16/+11/+6/+1, as listed in the table. It is your base attack bonus (to hit) and each / is another attack. For example, at level 18 it says +18/+13/+8/+3. This means you get 4 attacks, first one at full BAB, then each iterative attack after that gets a -5.
Each creature has a base attack bonus and it represents its skill in combat. As a character gains levels or Hit Dice, his base attack bonus improves. When a creature’s base attack bonus reaches +6, +11, or +16, he receives an additional attack in combat when he takes a full-attack action.
BAB (Base Attack Bonus) is a statistic that represents your ability to hit your target, and the number of attacks per round you can make. Different classes progress at different rates, and when you progress to certain breakpoints (+6, +11, +16), you gain an additional attack per round.
